Beloved and faithful husband of the late Gonny Oegema and loving and supportive father of Ellen (John), Bart (Lori), Peter, and pre-deceased by sons John (Anneke), and Rick (Gamble). Dedicated Grandfather of Greg (Aileen), Janice (Justin), Jennifer, Lesley-Anne (Tyler), Bart (Kristin), Nick, Tim, Alida, Brittany (Nathan), Kristopher and Cory. Great Grandfather to Dirk, Annika, Bianca, Lucy, and Martinus. Brother-in-law to John and Will DeVries and family in Canada, the US, and the Netherlands. John proudly founded Oegema, Nicholson &amp; Associates in 1961, now seeing its third generation of family management and was humbly one of the founding members of both the Ottawa Christian School and the Barrhaven Fellowship Community Church. Visitation at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 1475 Merivale Road, Ottawa on Friday December 6th from 3pm to 7pm. Private Interment at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa. Memorial Service being held Saturday December 7th at 11 am., at Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Rick Nanninga officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in John\u2019s memory to the Queensway Carleton Hospital or the Bible League of Canada. The family would like to thank Dr. Kalin and the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for all their help and support. He will be fondly remembered in our hearts forever.
